Biography

Greg Macklem is the Program Director for STEM Learning Resources in the Learning Resource Center. In this role, he develops academic support programs for STEM courses, collaborates with STEM faculty to identify areas for student growth, trains peer tutors to work with students, and assists with the management of the collaborative learning space in O’Meara Commons.

Macklem is an experienced math and science educator, having taught at both the high school and college levels. Prior to joining the Learning Resource Center, he provided instructional coaching and support for emerging AP mathematics programs as the Math Content Director of the AP Teacher Investment Program in the Notre Dame Center for STEM Education.
 

He earned a B.S. in Biology and Mathematics from the University of Michigan, an M.A. in History and Philosophy of Science from the University of Notre Dame, and an M.S. in Curriculum & Instruction from Purdue University. He holds an Indiana Teacher Certification (5-12) in Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Physics, and was the recipient of both the 1999 Lilly Endowment Teacher Creativity Fellowship and 2000 Milken Family Foundation National Educator Award.
